There is nothing as day or night, not one sun shining at them and then disappearing under the horizon. There is only fire, bright and shining, fighting against the Darkness of Nox. But it isn't the same fire as we know it, no. It`s a fire full of wonders and mysteries. Or how else would you explain that gigantic rocks are floating above the ground, carried by a flame that nervously flickers around, making the rocks float up and down a bit?
And speaking of the ground, there is not really one ground where they live, but rather countless forms of those floating rocks, centered by the world tree in the middle, Arzaleth. The tree`s Gy is the driving force of everything that happens here. Thus, like the floating rocks, they are emerging from the fires of Argy, another game played between Kha and Ty, or rather their representations in the Argy dimension: Kha's Spirit of Freedom and Ty's Eternal Master.
The children of Arzaleth, or demons as we commonly call them, have a strange connection to us humans, but their form of existence can`t be compared to ours. They have no opinion or understanding about life and death, they don`t question themselves or their situation, and they certainly don`t know human emotions like love or compassion. However, they do have an understanding of power that is shared with us humans to a certain degree. Power is a part of Argy, and Arzaleth spreads that power in many ways. The tree has glowing orange leaves, the Areniae, held together by black veins, and shiny white fruits, the Arbonai, are growing on him daily. They`re never hanging long, because the demons and also other species of the Argy dimension want to have them. They are fighting for them to the death, since these fruits grant lasting strength and the leaves are unbreakable.
When demons "die", a strange process starts: Their bodies are mutating to a lower, more primal form of Argy existence that is still possible to live with, depending on the damage their old body has endured. Fireworms, fire leeches and firecrawler are common examples of these primal forms.
Similar to humans, demons became more sophisticated over time. When in the beginning they just fought for themselves with their claws and teeth, they eventually started to understand and manipulate each other. The first "demonic deals" were made, where one demon promised the other to donate him Areniae for protection or assasination of other demons.
More and more, the consistency of Ty and the manipulative, sorting power of the Eternal Master showed in their behavior. Even if they do not feel connected to others, they have a sense for keeping their word to them. It was viewed as a promise until the death. Combined with the fact that demons are not known for overthinking before making a promise, structures formed out of the chaotic fight for the tree. Life-long servitudes from one demon to another, lies about promises of other demons, suicides or murders because a demon had not fulfilled his end of the bargain... these were the first signs that demons had created something like a society.
Demons also often forced their sense of promise-keeping on other species in the Argy dimension. Hordes of firecrawlers, arks and rock golems were bound to the will of one demon, Their reasons to follow the demon ranged from loyalty over fear to divine worship, which also contributed to the fact that most of these powerful demons started to develop a god complex.
